The Challenge

In a strategic alliance with Gigaset as their production partner, Unify launched the cohesive OpenScape desk phone family, a series of four corded business phones designed for the professional and semi-professional markets. We contributed the industrial and the user interface design.

The Solution

The OpenScape desk phone family was designed to offer variable ergonomic positions, accommodating different settings and user preferences. Additionally, the design allows all models to utilize an identical pair of feet, which ensures uniformity and simplifies manufacturing processes. A new contemporary design language balances elegant styling with quality materials and a sustainable portfolio strategy.

Catering to diverse business needs

The OpenScape Desk Phone family represents a sophisticated integration of advanced technology with user-centric design. These corded phones are designed to meet the unique needs of every business, providing intuitive user interfaces, and robust security features. This makes the Unify OpenScape Series at home in busy multi-line workflow environments and various business settings.

New Interface Design

The entire menu navigation of the color displays has been completely redesigned, introducing an elevated UI style that departs from the traditional flat approach. The new design is sophisticated and full of character, featuring a serif font that conveys seriousness and professionalism. Drop shadows create a second hierarchy level, enabling more complex content, while carefully applied gradients attract attention and emphasize primary functions. This redesign enhances both the visual appeal and functionality of the interface, making it intuitive and efficient for users.

Modular design & ergonomics

The phones feature a modular design that supports easy expansion and customization. Users can add key modules and other accessories to enhance functionality according to their specific needs.

Designed with the user in mind, adjustable stands are offered to cater to different ergonomic needs. Large, clearly labeled keys and an intuitive layout ensure accessibility for all users. Additionally, the handset was redesigned to enhance ergonomic functionality.By addressing the challenges of a uniform keypad design and ergonomic variability, we successfully developed a versatile and reliable product family that seamlessly integrates with the broader Unify communication ecosystem.
