The Challenge
The Solution
Making a complex topic tangible.
Siemens believes that equity compensation changes the way employees think about their role and the way they work - the topic of equity and the management of financial decisions is both emotional and complex.
So when Siemens reached out for our support to create a platform and user experience that strengthens and enables ownership culture, the challenge we faced included communication to a diverse group of users from different parts of the world, all bringing unique cultural views about money, savings and investing who needed access to the same platform and information.
We worked closely with the Siemens team to understand the needs of different stakeholders from factory workers to top level management and find a unified and holistic solution that could be scaled at a global level.
Creating a meaningful experience
In order to create a holistic and meaningful experience we had to bring in users at every step of the process. We built on Siemens existing research, visiting multiple locations and understanding the existing pain points.
We also continuously tested with our users by working in an iterative way where we released features and collected feedback in order to ensure we always delivered the best possible experience for the employees of Siemens.
Working in a diverse team
The entire project was structured in sprints and we worked agile with multiple stakeholders across the organization, including IT, Brand and communications as well as third party solution providers. We collaborated extensively using platforms like JIRA and Confluence to document our work and ensure that everyone on the combined Siemens / FLUID team had a clear overview of the task on hand.
We developed concepts, prototypes & designs, supported the production and implementation of the front-end (HTML5 & CSS) and accompanied the entire process all the way to integrating the final solution working with multiple teams from Siemens.
Creating a customised platform
It was a conscious decision from Siemens to create a custom platform, and not just integrate existing solutions. This meant creating the right partnerships that would be feasible across regions, platforms, languages and use cases.
MyShare was designed by humanizing the topic of equity through the use of user centric tools and refined digital communication channels. The iterative nature of this project allowed us to address user needs, make it accessible and create a touchpoint for multiple use cases.
The entire user experience has been designed from scratch to offer employees a solution that stems from their needs.
The strength of this Omnichannel platform is in the way it is custom-made for a diverse audience and the scalability of the solution across Siemens` brands fitting the future digitization strategy for Siemens. The portal allows users to not only view their financial portfolio, but also perform managerial tasks that have now been streamlined.
As of today, MyShare is available to over 300,000 employees and is available in 8 different languages.
A platform that allows over 300,000 employees to own a part of Siemens
MyShare portal has enabled over 90% of Siemens employees to become shareholders, making them the second largest group of owners. The efforts are still ongoing and the impact continues to be vast and measurable.
